TC Motorsports heads to Salt Lake City for final Mustang Challenge Race and a New Driver Joins Team
Auburn, WA -The 2008 Ford Racing Mustang Challenge heads to Miller Motorsports Park for the final two rounds of the championship series September 18-21. This final venue brings the teams back to where they began in Salt Lake City, Utah, birthplace of the Ford Racing FR500S racecars, and where many of the teams and cars hit the track for the first time during delivery and testing of the factory built racecars in March.
Pacific Northwest-based motorsports company and racing team TC Motorsports is fresh from some solid finishes at New Jersey Motorsports Park where team drivers Carlo Sparacio, Rick Edwards, and Ted Anthony, Jr. captured 3rd, 9th, and 8th place finishes, respectively.
New Jersey was the final round Sparacio would drive, as he is stepping down from his driving duties. The #8 TC Motorsports FR500S will be driven for the final two rounds of the season by Seattle resident Steve Miller. Miller's most recent driving has been for Team Seattle at the 24 Hours of Daytona, and he brings a fresh perspective to the team going into the final races.
Team principal Carlo Sparacio explains, "It's time for me to step down from driving the #8 car. I have had a lot of clients asking to drive with us, and now it is time to let them take the wheel. We are working hard to continue to build our successful arrive and drive and customer car support business, and help the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge series grow with new and competitive entries. My move out of the car will help with both of these goals. I am currently 5th in points with a mathematical chance to finish 3rd overall in the championship, but it would require a lot of mistakes from Mike McGovern and Tony Buffomante ahead of me. My Mosport finish was very disappointing, and that pretty much set the stage for where I am at now. I earned a couple of podium finishes and qualified on the front row in this very competitive series, so I am very pleased with my performance overall as well as the team's performance."
Team drivers Rick Edwards and Ted Anthony, Jr. have been doing their homework and hope to finish the season with two great races in Salt Lake City.
